eloff

Ms. Suré Eloff was born and grew up in South Africa. She attended the University of the Orange Free State where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. After graduation, she started voice lessons in Cape Town with Gudrun Barrella. In 1998, Ms. Eloff attended the Opera School at the University of Pretoria where she worked under the direction of Kammersängerin Mimi Coertse. In 1999, she continued her studies in Cape Town with Marita Napier.  Under Ms Napier’s direction, she completed her Associate Diploma in Singing (ATCL) with Trinity College, London in 2000 and subsequently moved to the United States.

In 2003, Ms. Eloff was awarded the Roger Bohn Memorial Scholarship from the Arlington Choral Society.  She completed her Graduate Diploma in Vocal Performance at UTA in December 2003 under the direction of Kammersänger Reid Bunger.

Ms. Eloff has sung in master classes with Rudolf Jansen, Elly Ameling, Graham Johnson and Martin Katz. In addition, she has performed in chamber music master classes with Craig Smith, Kare Hanken, Eric Ericson, and Georg Biller.

During the Summer of 2006, she attended SongFest at Pepperdine University where she had the priviledge of working with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Harbison.

Recent and upcoming events include performances at the Scotia Festival of Music (Halifax, NS 2007 and 2008), The Mountain View International Festival of Song and Chamber Music (Calgary, AB 2007 and 2009) and Ardlingly International Museloff_studentic Festival (Ardingly, UK 2008). Ms Eloff will also continue her studies with world-renowed collaborative pianist, Rudolf Jansen.

Ms. Eloff has been Charles Whitehead’s recital partner since 2002. She studies with Nancy Elledge and coaches with Martha Gerhart and holds a Fellowship in Performance (FTCL) from Trinity College, London.
