ASHBROOK BENEFIT CONCERT March 6th, 2010
7:30 pm On Saturday, March 6, 2010 Coppell Conservatory hosted a multi-instrument concert, to benefit the Joel Ashbrook Fund. The 90-minute concert was very well attended, and the audience donated generously to the fund. Solos, Duos, and Trios performed on Piano, Violin, Cello, and Guitar. Music styles ranged from classical to contemporary, with composers such as Bach, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, and Shostakovich.
![]() Mr. Ashbrook, the guest of honor, was present, and, at the conclusion of the concert, he addressed the audience to express his thanks. He also thanked Mrs. Boukadoum and made highly complimentary comments regarding the caliber of the performers. Many people remained in the hall to visit with the performers and to express their admiration and appreciation. Several audience members made comments such as “We had no idea of the talent that exists right here in our own town, because of the Conservatory”, or “The quality of music and the ability of the performers far exceeded my expectations”, and others thanked the Director for her contribution to the community through the arts. Comments received by e-mail can be summarized by this e-mail: “I just wanted to let you know how much my son Chris and I enjoyed the concert! The technical skill (especially those guitars) and passion of the performers were just amazing. The piano, violin, and cello trio was incredible. It was just a treat. Thank you again for the time and talent of you and your students/staff. It is people like you who truly make a community. Karen” Coppell Conservatory hosts several free concerts each year. In addition to students’ recitals, area artists are invited to perform in the Concert Hall on a regular basis. Home
