CONSERVATORY The
following
are rules of etiquette for all recitals or concerts offered at Coppell
Conservatory and other music professional organizations. Please
abide by them out of respect for
the performers, their teachers, and the audience.
All performing students MUST arrive at least 15 minutes (prerferably 30 minutes) before the recital time, to receive instructions… NO exceptions. Late students may lose the opportunity to perform. The dress code is similar to your “Sunday Best”. NO: jeans, T-shirts, boots, tennis shoes, or sneakers are acceptable. A student out of dress code will not perform. Trim your nails and keep your hair out of your face. DO NOT read books, play video games, or do anything other than listening to the performance. Sit quietly as you listen. In the entire Conservatory, and especially in the Recital Hall, absolutely NO food, drinks, chewing gum, or smoking. In a show of respect and support for each other, all of the students are required to stay for the entire recital program. No early departure is authorized. Audience Audience members should arrive at the recital hall no less than 10 minutes prior to the start of the recital. If you arrive late, never enter the Recital Hall while a student is performing; enter only during the applause and be seated very quietly. Families are asked NOT to bring children younger than 5 years of age so as not to distract the performers or the audience. Restless children should be taken out as quickly and as quietly as possible. Do not sit and attempt to convince them to be quiet. All cell phones, beepers, pagers, etc. should be turned off. Stay quiet when the recital is in progress. No flash may be used during any performance; you may do so at the end of the recital. Students and families/guests are required to stay for the entire recital, out of respect for the other students and their families, and to encourage proper courtesy at concerts; do not leave once your child has performed. If you must leave the hall because of urgency, do so only during the applause and very quietly, never during a performance. Hold your applause until the performer stands up. In the entire Conservatory, and especially in the Recital Hall, absolutely NO food, drinks, chewing gum, or smoking.
