Our Musicianship Classes go beyond standard instrumental instruction by filling the gaps that commonly occur in music education. We believe in providing a complete breadth of musical instruction that includes music theory, music literature, music history, music analysis, and more. This program emphasizes the basic skills of literate musicianship appropriate for the age, level, and ability of each student.

Why study Musicianship?By being a part of our musicianship classes, our private-lesson students receive a well-rounded music education that helps them understand music's finer points, the people who compose their music, and how they can apply this knowledge to their own individual playing.

In addition, through Performance Classes, Musicianship gives students the opportunity to play and be heard by their peers. This helps develop ease and self-confidence in performance, skills that apply to other areas in a student's life. It also helps ready students for the normal challenges associated with performing, such as overcoming stage fright (performance anxiety), being fully prepared, and stage presence.
