Mrs. Hannah (Horton) Eggleston began piano lessons at the age of eight. As a young pianist, she participated in Sonatina Festivals, Hymn Festivals, Jazz Competitions, Guild, and Texas Federation competitions, receiving All-State designation in 1998. As a student of Sharon Ard of El Dorado, Arkansas, Mrs. Eggleston received runner-up for the state of Arkansas at the Arkansas State Music Teachers Association in 2000, 2001, and 2004. Mrs. Eggleston began teaching piano lessons while still in high school. Mrs. Eggleston attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB), where she was an active collaborative pianist, accompanying many soloists and playing with several ensembles within the music department. Additionally, she was a student teacher for the UMHB Conservatory, as well as a choir accompanist and theory tutor for this program. Mrs. Eggleston received the Ann Chamlee award at the Barclay Competition in 2009. Also in 2009, she received the Presser Award for Outstanding Junior Student in the UMHB music department. In 2010, Mrs. Eggleston graduated cum laude from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and received a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Piano Performance. Subsequently, Mrs. Eggleston attended the University of Oklahoma, where she studied under Dr. Ed Gates, Dr. Jane Magrath, and Dr. Barbara Fast. As a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma, she taught Aural Skills classes and graded for Theory Structures. Additionally, she taught a group piano class for senior adults through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at OU. Mrs. Eggleston received a Martha M. Boucher Scholarship. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Mrs. Eggleston joined the faculty at Coppell Conservatory in the Fall of 2012. As a teacher, she wishes to inspire in students a passion for music and an interest in learning. She enjoys working with students of various ages, and she hopes to guide them to reach their full potential as maturing musicians. She is a member of CMTA, the Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA), and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
