Fabio BidiniItalian pianist and Van Cliburn Finalist Fabio Bidini will be appearing in concert at Irons Recital Hall at the University of Texas at Arlington on Sunday, March 3, 2002. Performance time is 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Bidini has performed with many orchestras on both sides of the Atlantic, including the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovenska Filharmonija, the Zagreb Philharmonic, and the symphony orchestras of Arkansas, Colorado, Columbus, Long Beach, San Francisco, Sioux City, and Winston-Salem, among others. His recital performances in the U.S. and Europe include a Beethoven sonata cycle in Austria and a tour in Italy. He has given additional orchestral performances in France, Germany, Holland, and Spain. Mr. Bidini has made numerous recordings, including one for BMG/RCA, serves as co-director of the summer festival in Monte San Savino, is the conductor of the chamber orchestra in Arrezzo, and is also visiting Artist-in-Residence at the University of Texas in Arlington.

Mr. Bidini is critically acclaimed for his artistry, technical prowess, and individualism:

"Virtually a single movement concerto of some 20 minutes duration, Bidini's flying technique put the Burleske's bravado moments in fine relief, while his poetic temperament surfaced in the central quiet interlude."
- Buffalo News, April 1999

"Pianist Fabio Bidini tackled the Strauss Burleske with Tilson Thomas and the New World Symphony without blinking. His sure-fire technique kept the rippling keyboard currents powerful and crystal-clear, yet he did not overlook the few moments for lyrical reflection allowed in the piece."
- Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, May 1997

"Bidini is a talented technician and a sensitive musician, but what's especially enjoyable about his artistry is his individuality. While Bidini isn't an introspective performer who huddles over the keyboard, he is a thoughtful pianist who gives a carefully considered spin to his work."
- Grand Rapids Press, March 1997
