COURSE DESCRIPTION
An outstanding opportunity for young artists to develop their love for, and abilities on, the Classical Guitar.

The program is an intensive weekly one-hour group session for Classical Guitar enthusiasts of all levels and experience.  Participation in classes and ensemble rehearsals is organized according to individual skill level (beginning, intermediate, or advanced).  A separate schedule for adult classes will also be available.

As a participant, you will receive free guitar teaching materials and you will benefit from hands-on, interactive classroom instruction, as well as individual guidance.

The goal of the workshop is to give students a high-level musical experience in a Coppell Conservatory environment that will include Recitals, Concerts, and Dallas Guitar Events, as well as new tools and ideas that they can carry forward into their current musical studies.

Teacher Training Topics
Special sessions will be offered on topics such as Classical Guitar Technique, Repertoire, Recital Preparation and Performance, and Guitar Ensemble Rehearsal.

Instruction is designed to provide an intensive fast-paced experience that exposes the student to new concepts and skills in preparing and performing music on the Classical Guitar.

*The beginning Classical Guitar class is for the true beginner and will cover the basic topics, such as proper sitting position, correct right and left hand position technique, note reading, and basic beginning repertoire.

**The intermediate and advanced classes are for students who have a basic knowledge but want to advance their technique with new and fresh ideas.  The lessons are divided into three separate (but related) topics: Guitar Technique, Mastering Repertoire, and Ensemble Rehearsals. Technical and practical issues will be discussed and demonstrated in master class type settings. All students will be required to make a workable practice schedule and learn to diagnose technical problems and how to effectively practice.
