Mrs. Maya Baum was born in Odessa, Ukraine. She began studying the piano at the age of five, and she still continues to perfect her skills. Mrs. Baum
studied at the Odessa Conservatory of Music where she earned a Master's
of Arts degree in Performance and Pedagogy. Later, she
accompanied for dancers and singers at the Theater of Opera and Ballet
of Odessa, and also taught private piano to children and adults.
After
moving to the United
States, Mrs. Baum
worked as an accompanist
at the Andahazy School of Classical Ballet in St Paul, Minnessota, and
taught private piano to children and adults. Later,
in North Carolina, she started Baum's Music School where she
taught piano to some 50 students. Her students have
consistently excelled at local and state festivals, and at various
other competitions, with many of them winning prizes and awards at
various levels.
Mrs. Baum has taught piano students of all ages and all levels for over 20 years. In 2000, she was elected President of the Raleigh Music Club. Throughout her
years of teaching and performing, Mrs. B
aum
has enjoyed sharing her love of music with students.
She joined Coppell Conservatory in 2007 with the desire to bring music into the lives of
all her students.
With her training and her rich and diversified
experience,
she endeavors to make every student's
musical experience a positive one by pairing
learning and fun, while developing and promoting the
student’s self-confidence and self-esteem.
She stresses that these
advances will benefit the students in their academic and
social lives.Mrs. Baum is a member of CMTA, the Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA), and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Home
