April Boukadoum - Director Mrs. April Boukadoum started Coppell Conservatory in response to a need for quality piano education in Coppell. Her vision was to provide a conservatory atmosphere where students would not only learn how to play their instruments, but also receive a comprehensive music education and develop an appreciation of music that would last them a lifetime. Mrs. Boukadoum attended New York University and the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in French. She began her study of piano while teaching French at Lamplighter School, where she was trained in progressive positive teaching methods. She has had intensive training with pianists and scholars from some of the world's finest conservatories including The Juilliard School, The Curtis Institute of Music, The Peabody Conservatory of Music, and the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Mrs.
Boukadoum has taught
piano in the Dallas area for over 20 years. Her unique teaching style
incorporates a warmth, sensitivity, attention to detail, and enthusiasm
that motivates each student to aspire to musical excellence. April's
insistence on excellence is evident in her student's accomplishments.
Her many prize-winning students have elicited judges' remarks
such
as
"rare and unusual teaching," "beautifully musical and expressive

exposes her
students to the cultural
aspects of musical study—she is fluent in French and
proficient
in Spanish, Italian, and Arabic. Her interest in different cultures has
taken her across the globe including Europe, Africa, and throughout the
