![]() Ms.
Jamie Chan began
her violin studies at a young age in her native Taiwan. In
2002, she received her Bachelor of Music
Education degree from the Taipei Municipal University of Education. After
graduating, she joined the
musically-acclaimed Fuxing Elementary School in Taiwan where she taught
for two
years.In 2004, Ms.
Chan came to the United States
to
further her music education.
She
enrolled at the Mannes College of Music in New York City, where, in 2007 she
earned a Master of Music degree, under the tutelage of Ann Setzer. During
the period of 2007-2008,
Ms. Chan
completed
post-graduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, under the
guidance
of Yumi Scott during. In 2008 Ms.
Chan enrolled at the University
of
North Texas, where she is currently pursuing her studies toward a
Doctorate of
Music, under renowned violin pedagogue, Julia Bushkova. Versatile
in both the chamber music and orchestral
repertoires, Ms. Chan
has performed as a member of several groups, among
them, the “Ensemble 212” in New York, the South
Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and
the Monroe (LA) Symphony Orchestra. She
is also an accomplished Baroque violinist, having made several
appearances at
the Boston Early Music Festival and the Baroque Performance Institute
of the
Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Ms. Chan has
taught violin privately in the
Dallas-Fort-Worth Metroplex for several
years. She
joined the Coppell Conservatory faculty in January 2012, thereby
strengthening the
Conservatory’s strings program
with her rich education and teaching experience. Home
